Portable Cabins FAQ
Do I require planning permission?
In short….yes! The planning requirements inform us that any building in place for longer than 28 days has to have permission from the local authority. There are some circumstances where it is not required such as a domestic or construction use. However, it is always best to seek information from your local council before buying a building.
Do the buildings have a warranty?
Yes! All of our new portable cabins come complete with a 12-month warranty for;
- Water Ingress
- Plumbing (If Present)
How do you transport the cabins?
Our portable cabins are transported on either a rigid lorry which is suitable for unit sizes up to 9.6m or on an articulated lorry which will carry our largest single unit size of 12m. The buildings are lifted off with the use of a hi-ab crane mounted onto the lorry bed.
Do the units need foundations?
This will depend on the area you intend to site the building. If you have a hard standing ground such as a concrete or hard-core base it would not be necessary. However if you are planning to site the cabins on grass we would recommend a simple set of lightweight foundations to stop the legs from sinking into the ground.
Can the units be linked or stacked on top of each other?
Absolutely! Our cabins are built to a standardised system so that all cabins of the same size can be stacked on top of each other and accessed with the use of a purpose built staircase. We can also create larger complexes of buildings using linking systems between cabins acting as small corridors.
Do you buy buildings back?
We are more than happy to offer a price to buy back a jackleg cabin we have previously supplied so long as the unit has been kept in good order. We can also offer a commission based sale where we list the building on our website and social media platforms to find you a buyer for your building which usually results in a higher sale price for you.
