Our process for buying used buildings

Step 01 – Design phase

The first stage begins with the selection of the used building you require and we help you to create the design you need, along with any customisations. When this has been agreed on, along with the quote, we visit your site to assess any accessibility issues for installation.

Step 02 – Planning and compliance

The next stage is to apply for planning permission as well as a building regulation application and the process usually takes 8 – 12 weeks. You complete this process unless you opt for our service to have our expert team handle it for you.

Step 03 – Manufacture and groundworks

When the planning permission is approved, our onsite team will begin to do the initial groundwork – preparing foundations, mains service connections and drainage while the engineers prepare the building offsite – creating any customisations you have requested. As both processes happen simultaneously, the completion of this stage is fast.

Step 04 – Installation

Your used modular building is transported to your site and positioned in place by crane so our team of engineers can connect the mains services and fittings you require. We supply all the equipment and workforce to complete the task to the highest standards.

Step 05 – Snagging and handover

Any final snagging issues are highlighted and resolved to ensure you are fully satisfied with the final outcome. When every detail is correct, we hand over the keys and building certifications so that your refurbished modular building is ready for use.

Advantages of used buildings

As the modular building is already constructed and merely needs some customisation to be ready for installation, the process takes even less time than installing a new modular building and a fraction of the time a traditional building would take.

The cost of a used modular building is significantly lower than a new one making it an ideal solution for organisations on a tight budget. However, you still get amazing quality in spite of the lower price tag, as used modular buildings are still in very good condition and can offer many more years of use.

Reusing modular buildings is a form of recycling. It reduces the demand for new materials and the energy required to manufacture and transport them, which is more environmentally friendly. They can even be repurposed or recycled again when their current use ends, and they can also be fitted with energy-saving elements such as LED lighting and timer-controlled heating.

Modular buildings are designed to be easily modified or expanded. Easy to remove and relocate, used and refurbished versions are also able to be customised to your specific needs both internally and externally. Whether your modular building needs are short- or long-term, a used portable building is a flexible solution.
